Terms of service

The agreement between you and DeFramer when you use Deframer. The short version: take the code only of your own site, or one whose owner has allowed it; we check this before you download it; converting is free, credits pay for downloads and optional site protection, and aren't refundable once bought; the code you get for your site is yours.

Site protection

Site protection costs 10 credits once per verified site, separately from project downloads. Adding a site and checking ownership are free. Activation requires a fresh published ownership tag and your explicit acceptance of the charge and coverage limits. Pause and resume that registration without another charge; resuming checks ownership again.

While active, the registration blocks new Deframer conversions, cached downloads and preview requests for that site, including direct downloads, admin tools and the owner's account. Exact-host coverage includes www. A trusted Framer project identity also covers aliases of the same project. Other subdomains are separate. Contact us about ownership disputes or transfers.

The optional inline helper is a removable, bypassable deterrent for certain capture markers, not a guarantee against copying. Public HTML, modules, styles, images and screenshots remain accessible, and third-party or self-hosted tools may ignore it. Previously downloaded files, in-flight responses and previously issued download links cannot be recalled. See the setup guide and limits.

The agreement

These terms apply between you and DeFramer ("we", "us"), which runs Deframer at deframer.co (the "service"). By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you use Deframer for an organisation, you accept them on its behalf and confirm you may. Our privacy policy and refund policy are part of them.

Who can use Deframer

  • You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, and able to enter into a contract.
  • You may not use Deframer where the law forbids it, or after we have closed an account of yours for breaking these terms.
  • One person per account. Keep your sign-in secure and your details accurate; you are responsible for what happens under your account.

What Deframer does

Deframer converts a site published with Framer into a Next.js + TypeScript project. It reads the files the published site serves to its visitors (for a password-protected site, with the password you enter), rewrites its pages, components, styles and CMS content as code, and lets you see the result, preview it and compare it with the original when that is available, and download it as a .zip. It needs no access to your Framer account.

Converted files are kept for a limited time and then deleted (see the privacy policy); download what you need.

Acceptable use: your own sites

Download and use the code only of sites you own, or sites whose owner has given you permission, for example an agency or freelancer moving a client's site for that client. In particular, you must not use Deframer:

  • to copy, clone, re-host or impersonate someone else's site, design, content or brand;
  • to infringe, or help anyone infringe, intellectual property or other rights: copyright, trademarks, design rights, or the licences of fonts, media and code;
  • to get around the rules, technical limits, paywalls or access controls of Framer or any other service, or to breach their terms;
  • to enter a site's password unless you own the site or its owner gave it to you for this purpose;
  • for sites with unlawful, infringing, deceptive or harmful content, such as malware or phishing;
  • to abuse the service: getting around verification, rate limits, credits or bot checks; attacking, overloading, probing or reverse engineering it; using it to reach systems you may not access; or reselling or sharing accounts.

Ownership verification

Anyone signed in can convert a published site and, when previews are available, preview it. A verified download costs 1 credit: we check that your personal verification meta tag is on the published page as Framer serves it, fetched fresh. If the code is missing, no credit is used. Sites served through a proxy may need manual approval for this option. Alternatively, download directly for 10 credits without publishing a verification code. Before a direct download, you must confirm that you own the site or have its owner's permission to download its code. We record that confirmation with your credit charge. Both options remain subject to our acceptable-use terms.

  • Your code is personal and works for all your sites. Share it only with the owner of a site you are allowed to convert: when they publish it, that is their permission.
  • Our admins may verify a site manually in exceptional cases, for example during support, and may run a conversion for you whose download then needs no check. Every such conversion is recorded as an admin override.
  • Verification shows that you control a site, not that you hold every right in its content. You remain responsible for the rights described in the next section. A verification obtained by deceiving a site's owner, or us, is abuse.

Your responsibility for what you convert

For every site whose converted project you download, you confirm that you own it or have its owner's permission, and that you have the rights to its content, design, code, fonts and media for the way you use the converted project.

You agree to defend and compensate DeFramer against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from the sites you submit, your use of the converted projects, or your breach of these terms.

Report misuse

If you believe someone converted your site without your permission, write to mehdi@deframer.co with the subject "Report misuse". Please include:

  • the address of your site;
  • why you are its owner, or act for the owner (for example access to its Framer project, its domain or the business);
  • when you noticed the conversion, and anything that identifies it;
  • how we can reach you.

What we do:

  • We review every report and may contact the account holder.
  • If a conversion broke these terms, we delete its files and preview, suspend or close the account that made it, and refuse that account's further conversions.
  • We keep a record of the report and of the conversion (who made it, when, and how ownership was shown) and may share it with you or with the authorities where the law allows or requires.
  • Abusive use isn't refunded: an account suspended or closed for misuse gets no refund and no credits back.

Credits and prices

  • Converting a site and seeing the result are free. Downloads are paid with credits: a converted project costs 1 credit with site verification or 10 credits without verification, the first time. Reopening and downloading the same project again while its files are kept are free, and so is comparing it when that is available. Every conversion is its own project.
  • Credits come in packs, on the pricing page: Single, 1 credit for $10, Starter, 5 credits for $25 and Studio, 30 credits for $100. Prices are in US dollars; sales tax or VAT is added at checkout where it applies.
  • Credits are added to your account as soon as your payment completes. They don't expire, have no cash value and can't be transferred.
  • A conversion that fails costs nothing. If a project whose download you paid for is lost before its files are ready, its credit comes back to your balance automatically, as a credit. Bought credits are otherwise non-refundable, as the refund policy explains.

Payments through Polar

Credit packs are sold by Polar (Polar Software, Inc.), our merchant of record and authorised reseller. Polar runs the checkout, takes the payment, charges sales tax or VAT where it applies, and issues receipts and refunds. Your purchase is also governed by Polar's buyer terms. We never see your full card details.

Your converted code

The code converted from your site is yours. We claim no rights in it, and the site's content, design and media stay yours (or your client's), as they were.

  • The project includes Deframer's small helper kit. You may use, change and distribute it as part of the project and its derivatives, free of charge, without time limit.
  • Open-source packages in the project keep their own licences, and code the site loads from third parties keeps its authors' terms.
  • Framer's runtime is not included: the project doesn't depend on Framer.

Conversion is automated. The result aims to match the published site closely but can differ; check it (in the compare view when available, or by running it) and test it before you rely on it.

Availability and limits

We work to keep Deframer available, but don't promise it will be uninterrupted or free of errors. Limits apply, such as how many conversions you can start in a day or a shorter period, their size and duration, and how long files are kept, and they may change. Accounts that have bought credits get a higher daily allowance and generally go first in the queue, but we don't promise when a conversion starts. Live previews, the compare view and speed tests may be unavailable, and aren't what a credit buys: a credit buys a project's download. We may change or stop features. If we stop the service, we will give notice where we can, so you can use your remaining credits.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using Deframer at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms (including after a misuse report we uphold), where the law requires it, or to protect the service or others. Credits left on an account closed for breaking these terms are forfeited. The sections on responsibility, your converted code, disclaimers, liability and governing law continue to apply.

Disclaimers

The service and its output are provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, including that a converted project matches the original, is free of errors, or suits a particular purpose. You are responsible for checking, testing and lawfully using what you download.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for credits in the 12 months before it. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

Not affiliated with Framer

Deframer is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Framer. "Framer" is a trademark of its owner and is used here only to describe which sites the tool converts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The new version is posted here with a new effective date; for a significant change, we tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect. Using Deframer after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and disputes go to the courts of Pakistan, unless the law of the country where you live gives you rights or a forum that can't be set aside by agreement.
